Winter Magazine Showcases Portraits of Hope
Newest edition of Spinal Column highlights photo series, 50th anniversary celebrations
What started as a collaborative photo project between Shepherd Center patients, staff, and Atlanta-based photographers has turned into a celebrated collection of portraits showcasing the beauty and resilience of Shepherd patients. And in the winter issue of Shepherd Center's quarterly magazine, Spinal Column, you can explore the portraits for yourself. The new issue is now available for download as a PDF file. Subscribers to the print version will receive copies via postal mail in the coming days.
In addition to Portraits of Hope, the winter issue marks the conclusion of Shepherd's 50th anniversary year, a staff profile about Matilda Lamar-Reed, the brain injury unit secretary behind many special visits for patients in her unit and beyond, as well as a story about Veronica Watts, a young woman turning tragedy into advocacy after being struck by a vehicle in 2024.
