Volunteers Make Underwater Adventure Possible for Patients and Community Members
Through Shepherd Center’s nationally renowned Recreation Therapy Program, patients and community members have opportunities to explore activities ranging from golf and tennis to art, gardening and music. But that’s not all!
Discover Scuba classes, offered almost every month in Shepherd Center’s newly renovated heated indoor pool, are taught by Bert and Dawn Quist, owners of Divers@Sea, a full-service SCUBA diving center located just a few blocks from Shepherd Center. Bert and Dawn, who volunteer their time at Shepherd Center, teach patients and community members all aspects of scuba, from mask and snorkel swimming to deep end diving in full gear.
