Shepherd Center Welcomes New Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Shepherd Center recently announced that Atul Kanvinde, CHCIO, CDH-E, joined the organization's leadership team as vice president and chief information officer. In this role, Kanvinde will provide tactical leadership of all Shepherd Center information services and strategic technology planning for the organization. He also will serve as a member of the senior management team (SMT). 

Kanvinde incorporates a deep technological background with broad healthcare experience. His information technology career spans over two decades across various technology platforms and certifications. 

An industrial engineer by training and practice before transitioning into software design, technology, and healthcare delivery, Kanvinde is a dedicated advocate for efficient, sustainable, human-centered design and believes that the patient experience and usability should be at the forefront of all decisions.

Kanvinde’s extensive career in healthcare information technology includes serving as a director of inpatient clinical information systems with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for nine years and seven years as an information systems manager with Spectrum Health.

Kanvinde has earned multiple certifications in healthcare information technology, including Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) and Certified Digital Healthcare Executive (CDH-E). He earned a Master of Science in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University.
