Shepherd Center Launches Redesigned Website Home Page and Navigation

Today, Shepherd Center launched a redesigned home page and navigation menu for its flagship website, shepherd.org. The new look and navigation were created to provide an improved and accessible experience for website visitors, said Jane Sanders, director of public relations and digital marketing.

“Our website is Shepherd Center’s digital front door, and we want visitors to enter it and find a welcoming, user-friendly and accessible experience, no matter their screen size,” Sanders said. “The changes resulted from an in-depth analysis of website data and accessibility best practices, as well as recommendations from a healthcare web and digital experience consultant.”

Site visitors accessing shepherd.org on desktop computers, as well as mobile devices, will find top navigation links for “Why Shepherd Center?”, Patient Programs, About, Admissions, For Healthcare Professionals and “Support Us”. These links will take users to a reorganized menu of important pages within the site, including overviews of patient programs, admissions information, employment opportunities, news, events, patient outcomes and satisfaction, ways to give and educational resources.

The top of the new homepage features icon-based links that quickly take website visitors to the most frequently searched information, including the hospital’s phone number, map location, Refer-a-Patient form, e-newsletter subscriber form, online giving section and site search.

Below the navigation, a featured program or event will anchor a section providing links to the most frequently accessed user calls to action – Refer a Patient, Browse Our Patient Programs, Learn About Admissions, Make a Gift and Take a Virtual Tour. Scrolling down, users will find direct links to eight patient programs, as well as links to a new page featuring Shepherd Center’s “Patient Stories of Hope” video series, a Shepherd careers section, news headlines, events listings and social media links.

“We welcome feedback from website visitors via email to information@shepherd.org,” Sanders said. “Later this year, we plan to launch redesigned landing pages and forms on our website, so stay tuned for updates.”

Shepherd Center’s website is designed by Piszko Design and managed by Rosie Judd, associate director of digital media and marketing, and her digital team.
