Mission Moment: Time Out for a Little Friendly Competition
Shepherd Center's Employee Field Day focuses on fun and teamwork.
Every spring, the Livingston Gym becomes a playground and Shepherd Center’s hardworking staff members become kids again for Employee Field Day. Teams with names like Brainy MSfits (Multiple Sclerosis clinic), Nerd Herd (Information Systems), and Psych-You-Out (Psychology) compete in silly games and vie for titles such as Best Team Spirit.
“It’s an opportunity to get together and have fun,” says Kyla Mitchell, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, director of human resources and member of Shepherd’s 18-member People Committee, which plans employee events and serves as a voice for the staff. “Employees love bragging rights,” she says, “and humor is one of Shepherd’s values.”
