Fall Magazine Celebrates Athletes Who Go 'All In'

Fall issue of Shepherd Center's magazine showcases how Shepherd keeps athletes in the game

Shepherd Center knows athletes. We know that drive, dedication, and a little friendly competition go a long way in the gym, on the court, and in rehabilitation. In the fall 2026 issue of Spinal Column magazine, we spotlight how Shepherd Center helps keep athletes in the game. The new issue is now available for download as a PDF file. Subscribers to the print version will receive copies via postal mail in the coming days.

This issue's feature story shows how athletes arrive at Shepherd in a myriad of ways — some for inpatient rehabilitation after a traumatic injury, some for specialized outpatient care, and some simply to get involved as a member of the Alias Family Sports Teams. This issue also highlights recreation therapy, from a recap of this year's Adventure Skills Workshop to a story about adaptive video gaming. This issue also features other patient and staff stories, updates from around the hospital, and information on recent fundraising and volunteer initiatives.

Have questions or feedback about this issue? Have an idea for a future Spinal Column story? We want to hear from you! Our Spinal Column reader survey, available here, will take five minutes or less to complete and will help us make the magazine a place for Shepherd Center patients, families, employees, volunteers, and community members to shine.
